I don't know if any of you watch SURVIVOR MAN but I learn and test the things I learn from that show before I show or write of them. This one I didn't know; if you have bug spray with you, it will take a spark into a flame right after spraying onto you dry wood or tender. I thought that was pretty cool!

What other things have you learned from SURVIVOR MAN that has worked for you? Also, what has NOT worked for you?

Well it wasn’t on Survivor Man but this does work unbelievably well. Take that same bug juice and mix it with small amounts of peanut butter (1 oz). We used this technique back in the day to signal the location of night time landing zones.

What other things have you learned from SURVIVOR MAN that has worked for you? Also, what has NOT worked for you? He started fire by taking the bulb out of a flash lite, cracked the top off of the bulb and didn't break the filament, left the glass off the end, placed his tender in top, turned on the flash lite and poof there was FIRE. I have tried this three times without success because of breaking the filament, but I WONT GIVE UP until I make it work. In general I wont tell show or write about any type of SURVIVAL that I learn about until I have mastered it so I can say it is doable. Somehow though on this site I don't seem to mind cause everyone seems to be like minded and maybe they may be able to find a simplier way to break the glass. I seem to be to hard on the bulb but I'll get it. I've also tried contacting LES about it but I haven't gotten a response back.
