Here is a question for you....
You live in a large city, and disaster is imminent. You only have 5 minutes to grab what you can and leave your home....what are the top 10 items you would take...ONLY 10. (This is just for fun...so have fun with it!)

Mike, I don’t think I like you. I read your question yesterday and started to answer several times. Each time I hit the delete key and started over and over again. The question “....what are the top 10 items you would take...” is almost confusing. Is my Bug Out Bag one item or is the contents of the bag 20 items? Then, of course, I thought about this most of the might because this scenario has run through my mind several times over the years. So thanks for the lost night of sleep.
As you said, “This is just for fun...so have fun with it!” I will.
1. My car keys.
2. My car - I have a Toyota Sequoia 4x4. It is in good condition, the tank is never below ½ full and I carry a weapons case, ammunition, water, a “builders bag” (my invention), two Bug Out Bags, a running survival bag, and a cache of food.
3. Gasoline - I had a friend of mine make me a special rack that plugs in to my trailer hitch. This rack holds 4 five gallon fuel cans, all have been treated with “Stabil”, octane boost, and the fuel is rotated regularly.
4. My black duffle bag - I have a very LARGE black duffle bag that holds my two tents, and four sleeping bags, two “Therm-a-Rest” pads, and a ground cover.
5. Cook kit - Kept in a “Rubbermaid” tote I keep a small kitchen and dining supplies. Stainless Steel Dutch oven and frying pan, cooking utensils, plates, bowls, spoons, forks, knives, dish soap and basins, drinking cups, grill rack, strike anywhere matches, paper towels, cloth dish towels, Butcher knives, cutting board, can opener, spices, etc. Everything that a person would need if they moved into an apartment and wanted to cook a dinner for a group of guests.
6. Water Cans - I have 4 seven gallon water cans. These are emptied and refilled every month and treated with “half” of the required bolus of bleach required for seven gallons. (I know I do not have to add bleach to tap water. I just feel better doing it.)
7. My Bug Out Food - I bought two, military issued, collapsible canvas hot\cold containers. Each container holds two weeks of canned and dry goods at three meals a day. These containers also have multi-vitamins with minerals, hard candies, and powder drink mixes.
8. Communication Bag – In my communication bag I keep three 6 watt solar panels. They can be used individually or hooked together for larger charging projects. I have four “Motorola” two-way radios, AM-FM-SW-Weather crank radio, portable “digital” TV, rechargeable batteries and system. This bag also holds my 4 rechargeable headlamps and 4 rechargeable flashlights
9. Tool Bag – It is like a baseball bat bag and holds my shovels, axes, pry-bar, hoe, sledge hammer, spades, etc.
10. Weapons Case – Yes, a second weapons case. Inside that case is a long gun, two pistols (same calibers), and a shotgun. I also have 1,500 cartridges and 500 assorted shells.

That is a great list...as long as you can actually get everything in your car and loaded up in 5 minutes!

That is a great list...as long as you can actually get everything in your car and loaded up in 5 minutes! That was my worry too. Five minute is faster than you think. I should have mentioned the wife. . . can she help load?
